Is America like what you've seen on TV?

No...and, yes.

Many students come to the United States expecting the United States to be like MTV, or Survivor, or another television show that's been exported to his or her country.

Some of that is what America is like. But, some of it is exaggerated, or only represents one aspect of American life.

Internationalstudents.org wants to introduce you to many aspects of American life. That's way we offer information on movies, music, sports, regional differences within the United States.

We'd like to let you know about American etiquette to help you feel more comfortable in social situations, and we'd like to explain a little about American food so you can be confident about what you're eating!

American has it's own art and clothing styles, and we have lots of holidays.
